1. What is La Vella Mobile Radio?

La Vella Mobile Radio is an internet radio aggregator. A player on your mobile phone that allows you to listen to hundreds of digital radio stations on the go! Think of satellite radio without the major monthly subscription or weird receivers. Or, think internet radio without lugging your computer around with you and having a really long extension cord! You get access to digital streamed radio stations right on your phone!

2. What do I need to access mobile radio?

Your mobile phone with a data plan, our La Vella Mobile Radio software, and a fullACCESS membership to get to all the great stations. That's it! You don't need a special state-of-the-art phone, or be on a particular carrier, we offer our mobile radio service practically to any phone, any carrier, and any country!

3. What type of phone does the software support?

We decided to launch our service using Mobile Java (J2ME), Windows Mobile and Symbian (Nokia/Samsung/Panasonic). Basically what that means is that it will work on most phones around the world! About 90% of the phones in the world are capable of using Java software, so that means that your phone probably works fine! We know that many phones and service providers will have different settings and limitations so why not download the software and check it out for yourself. It's FREE!

In the very near future, we will be releasing new software that is specific to your phone operating system. For example, a version for Motorola, Ericsson, etc.... Check back in the coming months and when you find an upgraded version, download it and enjoy! The software is always free =)

4. How many stations can I get on La Vella Mobile Radio?

Currently, over 130. We carefully select the stations that are provided with our player. Our parent company has been producing radio and television shows for years now, so we know what type of programming and quality our listeners will want. We know there are hundreds of thousands of stations around the world, and we will be constantly adding new ones as we find the best! If we haven't added one of your favorites yet, drop us a line and let us know!

You will find the hottest stations in the following categories: Hip Hop, R&B, 80's, 90's, 70's, Japanese, Spanish, Bollywood, Desi, Pop, Top 40, Jazz, Talk, Comedy, Stand Up, Oldies, Old Time Radio, Dance, House, Electronica, Alternative, Rock, Classic Rock, Indie, Country, Blue Grass, Swing, Ambient, Classical, Lounge, Spiritual, Christian, and more!

5. How much does it cost?

We have spent countless hours and dollars to create the best possible mobile streaming solution. We also have hosting and rebroadcast servers that accommodate certain streams so that it works on more phones. We don't charge a membership or streaming fee for access, however we do need to recoup a bit of our costs so we charge a very small monthly convenience fee.

We currently offer one easy convenient package that works out to 4cents/day - less than $1.50/month! When you register an account, choose either the 12month plan or the current promotion. Imagine, 12months of unlimited radio access for $2 a month? HOWEVER, we always have special discounts and Lifetime Registrations that pop up, keep en eye out!

What about the software? it's FREE! You can access a few free stations when you download the application to your phone without needing to register for fullACCESS or login. Just load the software and go to the Free Stations area. That will give you an opportunity to check the player out, and test your phone compatibility. The software won't expire and those stations are yours to listen to. HOWEVER! You really want to take full advantage of the amazing selection of great digital stations we have selected, and the only way to do that is with fullACCESS. But don't worry, it is so inexpensive you will rush to join!

Note: please be sure that your mobile plan has a good data option. Like the internet, streaming radio will use up data and depending on your plan, your provider may charge per KB. We recommend an unlimited data option for worry free listening =)

6. Do you offer a free trial?

We sure do! Download our free software, install it on your mobile phone and you are good to go. The software won't expire on you and you can test things out for as long as you want for FREE! No login required. So what's the catch? Really there isn't one, but you can only access our selected 'free stations' area without a full registration, so you are really going to want fullACCESS to get the massive amount of digital stations to your phone. But don't worry, it is so inexpensive you will rush to join!

7. How do I join for fullACCESS?

It's as easy as 1 - 2 - 3! Register, Download, Listen! Click here to register for fullACCESS. The set-up is automated, and you will be ready and listening to digital radio on your mobile phone in minutes! We take all sorts of payment types through our PayPal and Click Bank interface: credit cards, PayPal money, eChecks, bank debit, and more. Click HERE to signup now.

8. I downloaded the Free Software, but my Username and Password do not work when trying to Log In?

It's important to remember that when you register your information and create an account to download the free software, your username and password is not active for fullACCESS on your PHONE. You do not need to log-in to the software in order to use the free stations area and test things out. However, you can come back to our website and use your login information to access your account and upgrade to a fullACCESS pass.

Once you are ready to subscribe, just log-in at our website (with your already created username/passwd) and select one of the fullACCESS passes. Once you finish payment, your username and password will be activated for fullACCESS on your phone and can be used to login to the mobile software and access the huge list of stations!

9. Do you offer refunds if I am not using the service anymore? Money Back Guarantee - How does that work?

Due to the nature of digital software, we do not offer refunds for those users that decide to stop using the player for any length of time during their fullACCESS pass subscription. However, within the first 7 days, if you are having major technical difficulties installing or using the program, and our support team has tried to help you out with no avail, they will make a special request for refund. With that in mind this is the reason we have decided to give the software to you for free and allow an unlimited test run so that you can be sure you are good to go!

Important Note: We DO NOT offer any refunds from those who paid via check/money (due to restrictions we are not able to write a refund check). ALSO see item 15 for Blackberry users.

10. Can I put a La Vella Mobile Radio banner on my website/myspace/blog etc...?

You sure can. Click here. We appreciate the support and help in spreading the word. In fact if you have a website that has a decent number of monthly visitors or a contact list that would love to use our product, check out our affiliate program! You can make some huge money for everyone that you or your affiliates refer to us!

11. I don't see one of my favorite stations on the list, how can I submit it?

While there are tens of thousands of great digital radio stations around the world, we are constantly listening to them and adding them to our service if they meet our standards! Why not speed up the the process by helping us find your favorites! Click here to contact us and tell us what station(s) you regularly listen to and want on our mobile player.

12. Do you run the stations? How do I make a request?

We do not own or run the stations that are selected in our player. Those stations are run individually by their respective owners/programmers. You can find their request lines and websites by listening in! They all do a great job of running top notch stations and would love to hear from you!

13. I own/run a radio station and would like to have my station added to your mobile service.

Sounds good to us! Click here to contact us, and give us as much info as you can on your station. Such as website, station name, where you broadcast from, average number of weekly listeners, type of station (mp3, windows, aac, etc...). We will contact you shortly.

How much does it cost for your station to go mobile? Nothing! We offer the mobile access service to our radio partners for FREE! We have built some great software and put together a large scale marketing and hosting plan to gain large audiences. While it does cost a lot to run, we know that each station is a large part of our success.

At the same time, while you are promoting to your audience that you are now 'mobile', we will throw you some money for each registered member that comes from your site. Set yourself up with an affiliate account so that you can track hits, clicks and sales. Sweet huh.

14. I got a huge phone bill! What happened?

It is important to know that we do not bill you through your phone carrier. You will never see any charges from La Vella Mobile Radio. Once you have paid your fullACCESS fee from this website, there are no more charges from us. Please call your mobile carrier to see what these charges are, they may be completely unrelated.

However, it is also very important to know that your carrier charges you for data usage when accessing the internet, downloading ring tones and even streaming digital stations. As an example, if you are checking your 'Hotmail' email from your mobile phone, you may be charged data usage from your carrier even though the Hotmail account is free from MSN. You should verify that you have a good mobile internet package on your phone plan (we recommend an unlimited data plan for worry free listening). We have no control over the data charges or billing from your carrier.

15. I am having issues streaming with my Blackberry.

We have had some BB users experience issues streaming (it is provider related). We are no longer supporting the Blackberry devices until we develop it's own version. Please TEST the free software before purchasing. No Support or Refunds will be offered to those that do not adhere to this policy.

Technical Support  

1. Where do I get the software?

Click here to go to our download page. You can either download the program online to your PC (then install it to your phone using a cable), or go directly from your phone browser to download and install the program.

2. How do I use my mobile browser to download the software?

Since most phones differ, it is best to check your phone manual to see how to open and use the browser. Once you have the browser open, you can type in the URL (found in our download instructions). The download process and installation will start automatically.

3. How do I unzip the file on my PC?

It is as simple as right-click, extract/unzip. Most computers have an extractor installed already. If you do not have one, you can get a free trial here: www.winzip.com or simply Google 'free unzipper'.

4. I am having trouble installing.

From PC: If you have a cable used for your mobile to PC connection, you should also have software installed on your computer that allows you to connect to your PC and install applications. Open that program, find the 'add software/application' button (see your manual) and the find the La Vella Mobile Radio file. The program will automatically install the Mobile Radio application for you.

From mobile: When you go to our mobile web link from your phone, the process is usually automated. The install may ask you if you wish to install the program and may show that it is an unknown or third party file (since it is coming from a third party, La Vella Mobile, and not their own source, such as Sony or Nokia, etc...)  Not a problem, we can assure that it is safe and you can go ahead and install.

Please contact us if you are still having difficulties installing the application.

5. My account was not created properly, who do I contact?

When you create an account, our backend software activates it instantly. If you are having issues with our PayPal or Click Bank interface (not processing, etc...) please contact us and let us know you are having difficulties.

6. I forgot my fullACCESS password/username.

Easy enough :) We have an automated system to get it back for you! Go Here

7. Why does the station sound choppy or breaks up?

You may be in an area that has slower internet than required. For the streams to work well (without buffering constantly) you want to be in a high-speed (3G, EDGE, or WiFi) area. If you are in an area that does not accommodate a high-speed transfer, think of being on dial up, not very fast. Not to worry though! Most areas are high-speed now.

8. Why does the station not connect?

There could be a few reasons for this. If this is the first time using the service, please be sure you have a data plan and can access the mobile internet (please check with your service provider).

If you do have data setup properly and can use the internet, you need to be sure that your phone is giving 'permission' to the La Vella Mobile Player to access the internet. Sometimes this is a pop-up on your phone that comes up each time you launch the program; on other handsets it is in your phone's menu system that allows you to change the settings. Please consult your manual.

Also, it is possible that your phone is one of those that cannot stream audio. Some phones just will not stream MP3 stations; or it could be that your handset cannot connect directly to the stream (limitations and blocked ports from your service provider.)

Send us an email and let us know the model of your phone, which version of our software is installed and the issue, let's see if we can help!

If you have been using the system up until now without any issues, then either you are in an area with slow speed or no data access; or the station may have some difficulties (sometimes their streams are full and send back an error). Try the station again in a bit, or check your connection by trying to play a different station. If it persists, please contact us and let us know some details on the issue so we can try to help out.

9. I get a login error. My username and password does not work (and I DO have a fullACCESS pass)

Some users have emailed us for support when they receive a login error. 99% of the time it was a simple fix. These are the possible errors: (a) the username and password is not entered correctly, or is not registered for a fullACCESS pass (you only registered for and downloaded the free software) (b) your phone settings are not allowing the application to access the internet, so the login process fails. Please set those permissions properly. (c) your username and password are case sensitive and by default some phones make the first letter caps. Please be sure that your username and password are entered properly, or set the text entry to not default to uppercase on the first letter.
